Discover the highlands in one day on a Kerlingafjöll highland day trip

Start your adventure with a Kerlingafjöll highland day trip departing from Reykjavík at 08:30. First, we head towards the highlands and stop at Gullfoss along the way. Here, you can take in the powerful waterfall before continuing deeper into Iceland’s rugged interior. Meanwhile, enjoy breathtaking views of icy rivers and snow-covered peaks as the landscape gradually transforms into untouched wilderness.

Once you arrive in Kerlingarfjöll, the journey continues with a bus transfer to Hveradalir. There, an experienced guide leads you through the area and shares insights that bring this unique environment to life. In addition, the geothermal valley is famous for its steaming hot springs and vibrant rhyolite mountains, creating striking contrasts against the dramatic surroundings.

After the hike, you can unwind and recharge at our restaurant. For example, enjoy a warm meal or light refreshments before the next part of your journey. Then, the experience continues with a visit to the Highland Baths. Here, you can relax in soothing geothermal waters while surrounded by peaceful highland scenery.

Later in the afternoon, we begin the return journey to Reykjavík at 17:00. On the way back, we stop at Geysir, where you can witness the famous Strokkur geyser erupt. Finally, you will arrive back in Reykjavík around 20:30, ending your Kerlingafjöll highland day trip with unforgettable memories—all in just one day.
