About the tour
We take you on a thrilling Eyjafjallajökull Snowmobiling Tour
Experience Iceland from a whole new perspective on an unforgettable Eyjafjallajökull Snowmobiling Tour. While South Iceland is breathtaking from ground level, exploring it from the top of a glacier adds an entirely new dimension to your adventure.
Snowmobiling on Eyjafjallajökull glacier combines excitement, dramatic scenery, and authentic wilderness. This tour is ideal for first-time riders and adventure lovers alike, offering a scenic and safe way to experience one of Iceland’s most famous glaciers.
What to Expect on the Eyjafjallajökull Snowmobiling Tour
The Eyjafjallajökull Snowmobiling Tour starts at our base camp at Brú by Road 249, located near the legendary Eyjafjallajökull Glacier. After arrival, a certified local guide will provide all necessary equipment and explain safety procedures before the journey begins.
Once dressed in a warm snowsuit, helmet, gloves, and mask, you’ll ride in a specially modified super jeep up the slopes of Eyjafjallajökull. The drive itself is an adventure, taking you higher into the mountains and onto the glacier where the snowmobiles await.
Riding across the glacier reveals an impressive landscape of vast snowfields, volcanic rock formations, and striking ice sculptures. As the tour continues, the scenery opens up to panoramic views across South Iceland. On clear days, you can see the Westman Islands, the entire south coast stretching toward Ingólfsfjall, and even parts of the Icelandic highlands.
Throughout the ride, your guide will share fascinating insights into glaciers, local nature, and Icelandic folklore, adding depth to this thrilling glacier experience.
