About the tour
Experience Real Molten Lava Up Close
The Lava Show Reykjavík is the only live lava show in the world. It has earned multiple innovation awards and strong recognition for its educational and cultural value. In addition, outstanding customer reviews consistently rank it among the highest-rated attractions in Iceland.
At the Lava Show Reykjavík, you experience real molten lava up close. You can watch it flow, hear it sizzle, and feel the intense heat that radiates from it. As a result, the show creates a truly immersive experience that combines science, storytelling, and spectacular visuals — edutainment at its finest.
A knowledgeable host guides the show and explains Iceland’s volcanic activity. In addition, a short educational video introduces the fascinating geology behind Iceland’s eruptions. Afterwards, guests can ask questions during the Q&A session.

Important Information
The Lava Show Reykjavík venue welcomes wheelchair users; however, only the Classic experience accommodates wheelchairs.
Please arrive on time, ideally 20 minutes before the show begins. Because real lava pours during the demonstration, the showroom becomes quite warm. Therefore, visitors may want to remove some layers before the show starts. Although the experience remains safe for everyone, guests who are sensitive to heat, have heart-related conditions, or travel with very young children may prefer seats toward the back or near the exits.
Everyone should keep safety goggles on throughout the show, especially while lava remains in the showroom and while it cools and solidifies.
