Þórsmörk

Þórsmörk is a unique area between the three glaciers; Mýrdalsjökull, Eyjafjallajökull and Tindfjallajökull. To get there we drive on 4x4 track road over un-bridged glacial rivers. We will stop at at the famous waterfall Seljalandsfoss. On the way we will see the great effect that the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull had on the landscape.
This truly is a breathtaking experience.

Fimmvörðuháls
Eyjafjallajökull eruption
A great super jeep and hiking tour to the volcano Mt. Magni and Móði between the Eyjafjallajökull glacier and Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Mt. Magni and Móði are the craters that erupted just before the principal crater of Eyjafjallajökull. Walking on the new lava you can feel the heat and see the hot glowing lava under the surface. We go by super jeep up a long the way: There is about one hour walk from the place where the jeep trail ends and to the volcano. After exploring the volcano it’s surrounding and breathtaking view over the Þórsmörk valley we head back.

A: Let the super jeep wait and go back with the super jeep to Skógar.

B: Walk all the way down a beautiful hiking trail by the river Skógá and see about 20 waterfalls on the way down. Part of the Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail.

C: Walk from the volcano to the valley Þórsmörk and get a pick up by super jeep there.

Mt. Hekla and Syðra Fjallabak
We drive up to Hekla volcano and go through the highlands on and beside the famous walking track Laugarvegur in a wonderful volcanic scenario. As we head back to the lowlands we will have a look at the spectacular canyon Markarfljótsglúfur the unique mountain Einhyrningur and drive beside the glacier river Markarflót with Þórsmörk on the east side of us. We will then head our way to Flótshlíð which is a beautiful farmland where the Njáls Saga took place.

Mt. Hekla and Hungurfit
We drive up to Hekla volcano and then we´ll go to the magnificent valley of Hungurfit which is a wide and open place on the north side of Tindfjallajökull. Lots of stories about alfs and huldufolks have been created there because of its surrounding and you will get the feeling of the Icelandic wildlife. When we head back we´ll drive through old farmland such as Reynifell and the area where Njáls Saga took place.

Landmannalaugar
Landmannalaugar is one of the most famous color pearl of Iceland. With the colures, hot springs, rivers and its rugged landscape surrounding you. We drive through beautiful mountains and by the crater Ljótipollur, on our way to Landmannalaugar. In Landmannalaugar you can relax and bath in the warm natural pool next to a lava field or go for a short hike before heading for active volcano Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes.
We will drive to a height of 950 meters up the side
of the volcano to capture the astounding views.

Vestmannaeyjar
Vestmannaeyjar or The Westman Islands are truly a wonder of Nature. The youngest island of Vestmannaeyjar celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2003 and the oldest one is close to 40.000 years old. We will visit the puffins in Stórhöfði and walk up to the crater of a volcano that erupted only a few years ago as well as exploring the flora of the new lava field. After a lunch break we join a boat cruise where we will see many of the wonders of the Vestmannaeyjar nature. Colorful ocean caves, millions of seabirds and occasionally during the summer, whales.
